The pop culture I chose for this week is computers. Computers have become the way of the world. You can do just about anything on computers. With a computer you can work from home, go to school from home, make movies, there is no end to what you can do on a computer. Just about every household has a computer or plan on buying one. That is because they are so good to have. Don’t get me wrong they have their bad side too, but overall they are good to have.
I have heard people say what a great device they are and what a wonderful help to human beings. What this means is that if you don’t want to go out and pay a bill you just get on your computer do it from home. Now days people don’t write letters like they use to instead they send emails. I never was one to write a letter but I will send an email, it’s much quicker and better also save you the money for a stamp.
All of the offices and industry are using computers. It is much easier and much better. I don’t see to many people doing things by hand these days. I work for H&R Block and the computer does all the work. I never thought that I would be doing someone taxes. All you do is put the numbers in and the computer does the rest, easy uh. There are some people that are just scare of a computer. People have said that they don’t know what to do with it; I have even heard someone say they might break it or mess it up. A computer can be your friend or it can be your enemy it all depend on how you use it. The best advice is to use it for your good, don’t try to do nothing evil with it a nd it will be alright.

I just got my mom into using a computer. She is the secretary of our local Lioness Club and she still uses a typewriter to type her reports. She said she can get it done faster and trust her work better on a typewriter. I keep showing more and more things to do on her computer. Our last project last week was uploading pictures from her digital camera and submitting them to Wal-Mart online for printing. I do everything on the computer and don't know how I would live without it in today's world.
